I've used these nut drivers with my impact driver on several projects, and they've held up well without any damage. The magnetic force is strong enough to hold most bolts securely, making it easier to work in tight spaces or at awkward angles. The 6-inch long nut drivers are especially useful for reaching deep into machinery or furniture. The variety of sizes in both SAE and metric ensures that I have the right tool for the job, and the included impact to hex converter and long drill bits add even more versatility to the set.
Overall, I'm satisfied with the quality and performance of this nut driver set. The only negative I can think of is that the case doesn't hold some bits securely enough.
I have a set of nut drivers but they are not magnetic and are short. I got the LIBRATON kit because of the long nut drivers for my impact drill. The long drivers work great when working on the vehicles to reach the nuts, bolts and screws in tight places. The magnetic drivers allow me to retrieve the nuts and bolts in places where my hand does not reach.
I am rehabbing a century plus old building with newer outbuildings. They are only thirty or so years old. In this endeavor I have purchased a general contractor tool pack, Ryobi1+. One of the drivers in the kit is an impact driver. I was blowing up standard bits. I purchased this kit to address this problem. This weekend I spent several hours working on a garage door that crashed years ago. I used this kit to uninstall, install and tighten/adjust fasteners. Everything worked flawlessly.
I like the clear differentiation between Standard and metric sizes. The differing shaft lengths also allow for easy hand starting the fastener prior to hitting it with power. There are neodymium magnet in the pocket of each socket to help achieve positive control on the fastener.
In general, this is a very nice set. First off, I appreciate the retail box. If you're getting a gift for someone, you want a nice box (I've received sets like this in a plastic bag or plain cardboard box before). Next, I want to give credit for the provided case. It's well built and will likely last many years due to the metal latch and hinge. The drivers themselves are of decent quality. As noted by others, they are a bit shallow, but that's kind of what you get when you get magnetic style ones. I appreciate how complete the set is. It's got standard length and extra long ones. Metric and SAE. I've been needing a set just like this for a while now. Good product in general.
Nice selection of long and short impact nut drivers, in both metric and SAE sizes. The set also includes two long phillips bits (PH1 & PH2) and a 1/4'' square (socket wrench) drive x 1/4'' hex adapter. All packaged securely in a very good quality plastic case. The case measures approx. 10-1/2'' x 7-5/8'' x 2-5/8'' when closed, and weighs almost 5 lbs. when full.
All bits are clearly laser-marked with their size, and each socket has a fairly strong magnet for nut/bolt retention.
When it comes to driving lag bolts or self-drilling screws, magnetic hex bits coupled with a good impact driver are the perfect tool. They hold the fastener in place securely enough to start driving, making placement quick and precise. That said, I have always made due with three hex drivers 1/4'', 5/16'' and 3/8''. When necessary to reach difficult locations, I have used extensions that wobble too much and it is common to loose the fastener.
This set is impressive and I will definitely be expanding how often and under what circumstances I use hex bits. The extensions with magnets are particularly promising for removal or placement of hex head screws from difficult to reach locations.
The case is well made. It does a good job of holding onto the driver bits, ensuring they remain well organized and easy to transport. I would like it if the bit sizes were printed in a larger font (showing my age). Otherwise the part quality appears excellent and the magnets are strong enough to firmly hold fasteners.
I really like the strong organized plastic case that labels every one of the 31 tools inside. It has both metric (7 to 14 mm) and SAE sizes (1/4 to 9/16th inch) nut drivers (each has both 6 and 2 1/2 inch lengths) along with two Phillips screwdrivers. All drivers have a little strong magnet deep inside to stop the screw from falling out while spinning them. It also comes with a very handy 1/4 inch driver to 1/4 inch hex adaptor that allows me to use these nut drivers three different methods. I can attach these drivers to a drill, hand held screwdriver or a ratchet. The case is made from strong plastic and tool set made from Cr-V steel. I found the 6 inch long tools are challenging to remove from the case and the font size is hard to read being too small. However, electroplated metal surfaces along with the laser etched labels make the tools look premium. No more losing individual sized nut drivers as this kit keeps them all together and organized.
I liked this product so much, I ordered two addition sets. One for my son in Denver Co. for his work (alarm systems and security cameras), he loved the quality or it being magnetic to hold onto nuts and bolts. The second one, I gave to my good neighbor whom is a contractor. He works on various projects and also on his airplane engine with his certified aircraft mechanic buddy. He told me he is very happy to have this quality set of tools.
