I bought this specifically for cutting heavy cardboard, shipping cartons. Works as advertised.
They fit my M18 multi tool and were fantastic to remove carpet and did it quickly. Durability is questionable. Felt the need to change the blade after a couple of rooms. Value for the money is great if you value time.
I used these hook knife blades by EZARC with my Greenworks oscillating multi-tool. The fit was simple for my tool and didn't require the use of the adapters that are included with this 3-pack. I haven't used this for shingles but these blades are great for cutting other materials as long as they have some level of stiffness. I make a lot of forms from cardboard and this works well for cutting thicker material as well as following curved or irregular lines. The blades are very sharp and can be utilized for either a forwards or backwards cut. You may need to experiment with your material to see which direction works best. I tried cutting some old scraps of shag carpet but the looseness of the material didn't work well with my oscillating tool. A simple carpet knife still works best for that but I could see this working well with stiffer rubber mats, Berber carpet or vinyl flooring. For my purposes, this has provided another cutting option for my tool kit but be aware that it may not always cut as you'd expect and can take some practice to get the best angle and speed of your tool. At the current price of $16.97, I'll give this 4 stars.
The EZARC Oscillating Multi Tool Hook Knife Blade set is perfect for cutting soft materials like roofing shingles, PVC, carpet, and cardboard.
The blades are sturdy and feel durable in hand. Installing them onto my oscillating tool was a breeze; they fit securely and didn't wobble during use.
They made quick work of roofing shingles, cleanly slicing through without any tearing or jagged edges. I also used them on PVC, and the precision was impressive. The hook knife design helps with control and prevents accidental damage to underlying surfaces.
You get three blades in the set. The blades held up well during extended use, showing minimal signs of wear.
Overall, they've proven to be reliable, versatile, and efficient in tackling soft materials. If you're in need of quality multitool blades for such tasks, give these a try.
I ordered this mainly because I have a collection of blades for my oscillating tool but nothing quite like this. I don't have any carpets to cut at the moment so I thought I would try it out on some carboard waiting to be recycled and I was very impressed. It cut through the cardboard like nothing, in fact I was a little worried that it would go to fast and slip off course and catch my hand. I then tried it on an even heavier gauge of cardboard that was actually doubled up and it even went through that! this is a great addition to my blade set and I can't say for sure, but I would guess that it would go through carpet just as easily. This by no means is meant nor designed to go through thicker material like full size wood but as long as it's used for what its intended, it will get it done for you. I was using it with a Craftsman tool, and it fit perfectly, as it says it does with most brands, it also includes adapters for Bosch and Dremel tools. Overall and at this price I really don't think that you can go wrong with grabbing a set of these blades while they are still available.
I had never seen a blade like this before for an oscillating multi-tool, so I had to give it a try. Now, I am really glad that I did. It cuts cardboard so much better than a regular box cutter. I can't wait to try them on other soft materials. It allows me to be much more accurate and also to follow curves or any shape I want. The blades are very strongly constructed, and they stay sharp. They also fit my DeWalt oscillating tool with no issues right out of the box. If you have an oscillating multi-tool, you will probably want to give these blades a try.
I was so happy to give these knives a try and they work great. I cut indoor/outdoor carpet and it went through the carpet like butter. The sharp tip makes it easy to start a cut in the middle of the material and the design of the knife allows you to pull or push to make the cut. The blades are made of good quality steel and they are definitely sharp. I am very excited about finding this new use for my oscillating tool. It will replace a lot of work where I normally use a carpet knife. This is so much easier and more efficient. Where I would typically need to make a number of passes, now I can get the cut done in one pass. I recommend this oscillating tool knife highly.
They cut soft stuff like cardboard as if it were butter. It will cut wood paneling, but it does burn a bit here and there, and is slow. The old plastic case from a wrench set was really really hard to push it through. It would not touch a thin piece of plexiglass that I tried.
They are NOT very sharp.
The plus side is that they mount onto my M12 Milwaukee oscillating tool easily. They come with a couple little rings, I suspect they're so they can be used on different models of tools, but were not needed on mine.
They're heavy duty, strong metal, but I honestly think if they were thinner, they'd cut better, with less resistance as the blade had to go through the material to be cut.
They have two cutting blades, the hook for pulling toward you, and the indent for pushing away from you. The later one is awkward to use, but I'm sure it's just a case of getting used to it.
25-30 dollars for 3 of them is a bit expensive. I do like them, but they will not do anywhere near what I expected them to be able to accomplish.
Not impressed at all. Doesnt cut thick cardboard like i was expecting. Might do ok on asphalt shingles but thick cardboad a big fail. Would not recommend
Great for cutting down large gym equipment boxes for easier transportation and reuse for other projects. Sharp and lasted half a day with no issues. The price was excellent for the task and time saved.
These work great *IF* the rug is taught. If there is any slack whatsoever they just vibrate and do nothing. So, great for cutting up installed carpet or cutting during an install when you've tacked down part of the carpet and it can be pulled taught.
