Bought them to prep areas for a clean weld. They work great to clean off the metal without removing material like flap disks and grinding wheels do. I’ve used all three grits multiple times and seem to have a lot of life left in each.
These discs are perfect for rust and paint removal without removing much of the metal underneath it. These are great quality discs and lasts a long time. With paint or powder coat, it does load up the discs a little bit but it still strips quickly and affectively. I like the tooless design which you just thread on by hand and tighten it. As you grind, it will tighten up some more. With my Milwaukee M18 grinder which has a max speed of 8,500 RPMs, it does vibrate quite a bit more than a regular flap disc so it doesn't appear to be as well balanced.
I've used similar fiber mesh stripping wheels for a drill. You have to watch the quality as some cheaper discs will shred quickly or gum up without stripping paint. I wanted to see how well this set of clean and strip discs would work on the grinder. I opted for the variety pack to try one of each different coarseness. Two are silicon carbide and one is ceramic, rated as rough clean, general clean and extra clean. I like that they are color coded and labeled on the discs. They fit a standard 5/8'' grinder arbor and screw on with no tools. The center hub and threads are plastic. The total diameter is 4.5'' and the plastic diameter is 4.125''. Therefore you need to watch grinding on the edge because it will start eating into the plastic. The product listing shows a max operating speed of 13,300 RPM, but the product received shows max of 9800 RPM. Overall they are well made and don't shred apart easily. They dona good job of stripping paint and rust scale. Still would recommend a wire wheel to get rust out of pits and in tight spots and around bolts. These are difficult to use in corners and tight spaces as there is no flexibility.

It is just what I needed to continue the beautification of my outdoor railings. There is a lot of rust/paint removal required for this project and these bad boys have been working tirelessly, haha. These discs are rough, tough and durable, and really stand up to the task at hand. The innovative open honeycomb design prevents heat buildup, by providing superior heat dissipation, uniform grinding force and minimizing damage to the substrate, protecting the workpiece surface and leaving it stripped clean and ready for painting. These offer superior performance, especially in comparison to the old wire brush, haha. The black and purple silicon carbide paint removers are ideal for clearing light mill scale and paint. For automotive paint stripper tasks, the premium orange ceramic paint stripper wheel provides the highest grinding power with an improved lifespan to handle heavy rust and deep pits without leaving divots. My next mission to to attack the rust spots on my older-model truck and that orange disc will come in very handy;-) A word of advice, for best results do not exceed 13,300 RPM. The lower speeds, 3,000 to 6,000 RPM are best for delicate surfaces like wood or fiberglass and should be used with the black or purple silicon carbide discs for light prep work and giving you more control for fine surface preparation. The medium speeds of 6,000 to 9,000 RPM are a good all-purpose range for general paint and mill scale removal, and work well with the black or purple discs on light-to-medium metals. Last, but certainly not least, the higher speeds of 9,000 to 13,300 RPM are best for heavy-duty tasks using the orange ceramic disc and are ideal for heavy rust, thick automotive paint, and deep oxidation. As mentioned earlier, the honeycomb mesh design helps minimize heat buildup at these speeds. It is recommended for auto-body work and industrial stripping. Always match your speed to both the disc color and the material you're working on for the best results and longest disc life. Since the honeycomb mesh design prevents heat buildup, which directly extends disc life by reducing wear, these are a great choice for longer-lasting discs. They are performing admirably and we are very happy with them. The discs look great/work great and are affordably priced. Highly recommended.
These ripped through the old beat up paint and rust. The pictures are of before and after. The after pictures only took a few seconds to clean it down to bear metal. I do metal fabrication for a living and have to say that these really impressed me. I'll probably hit this with a flapper wheel to make it smooth, but if you're just cleaning paint, let's gooo!! It's good for it.

I feel like maybe I missed when these things were introduced. It's really quite amazing. It's somewhere in between a grinding wheel and a sanding wheel. In any case, it definitely removes material (as in metal) like a grinder. But not too quickly, so it's much more mellow. My favorite thing to do with this is sharpen stuff. I did do some paint stripping but it's almost too powerful for that. It definitely marks the surface. But my garden axe has never been sharper. Ever. It's almost as sharp as a box cutter. 10 Stars.
This three pack of orange ceramic stripping pads are great for removing rust, tarnish, and paint from metal surfaces. The disks have a threaded center hub that screws directly to the threaded arbor post on an angle grinder. No worrying about an arbor nut being tight enough to prevent slipping. Just screw the disk on and begin grinding. If the disk becomes clogged with paint just spin it off and spin on a spare to keep working. No tools to worry about during the replacement. The only difference I noticed from the product description was the max RPM. The images in the description show the max RPM as 13,300 while the actual product list 9800 RPM. Check your angle grinder for the max RPM it runs at and adjust your RPM appropriately. Be careful if your grinder does not have a variable speed adjustment or a very high RPM. Overall they look like sturdy and aggressive stripping disks. I have a few pieces of garden furniture that needs stripping and painting and these will be useful once the weather cooperates.
10 stars. These things worked great for removing rust spots and loose paint on an old utility trailer I bought to restore . I had some flap sanding disks and grinding disks all doing the same job to see which one worke the best and these 100% were the best fit for what I was doing. I just needed to removed what was loose . They were very durable and did not rip apart on me even when I had big burs on the metal. These 3 disks lasted me the whole project removing loose material. They also worked very well removing the old reflective tape off as well.
I got these to strip the paint off of a metal storage locker that we had to repaint. We put the orange disc on an angle grinder and went to work. They did great at removing not only the paint but surface rust that had started to appear. The disc held up like a champ and is still good enough to use on other projects.

Great metal prep
I use the disc to remove heavy rust from some of my welding projects around the barn. They clean rusted pipe really well it makes for such a better weld.

These really surprised me. They worked very well, better than expected. I'll purchase more of them. I got the three pack started off with the middle one, and then I was using the lighter on at the end unfortunately, I already light sanded and primed what I was working on otherwise I would have sent a video.
